KAMV (Knut Anderson Mechanical Workshop) was founded in 1947 after Knut Anderson had operated his own business in Disenå during World War II, producing wood gas generators for vehicles. He established the company in his hometown of Disenå and gradually expanded production.
For many years, milling tools for door and window manufacturing were KAMV's primary products. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, KAMV diversified into other products, such as SOS tools — the predecessor of today’s SOS RescueTools.
Knut Anderson continued to develop new products and explore new markets until his passing at the age of 89.
Trond Bråten began working at KAMV in 1981 and has played a central role in the company’s operations for over 30 years. He has served as general manager since 2008. An accomplished competitive shooter, Trond earned the title of Shooting Prince at the Norwegian National Shooting Championship in 1987. He has applied this experience to developing products for shooters in recent years.

Our story
The workshop started modestly in cramped quarters in the years following the war but quickly grew in size. In the 1950s, the facilities underwent significant expansion, with further extensions completed in 1974.
